Marlin Equity Partners is an operationally oriented private equity firm that primarily invests in businesses that are undergoing varying degrees of operational, financial or market-driven change. Investing through its family of funds, Marlin targets special situations across a wide range of industries including technology, healthcare IT, consumer, business services, and industrial / manufacturing.
Associate
This individual will be involved in the identification, analysis, and execution of investments in private and publicly traded companies. The candidate will work closely with experienced investment professionals and will assist in the evaluation and execution of investment opportunities across multiple industries and throughout all levels of the capital structure.
The candidate will be participate in and support the entire investment process, including opportunity identification, due diligence, financial modeling and valuation. The candidate will gather and synthesize industry/market data, build detailed financial models, participate in due diligence calls / site visits with management and external advisors, assist in obtaining acquisition financing and be the primary preparer of preliminary and final investment
memorandums for internal meetings and investor presentations for meetings with Limited Partners.
The candidate should possess the following skills:
- Excellence at financial modeling
- Be a consummate team player with great integrity and a superior work ethic
- Be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in an entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of valuation, finance and accounting
- Excellence at oral and written communication
- 2 – 4 years experience in private equity, management consulting, Big 4 audit or restructuring group, or investment banking
- Demonstrated academic and leadership success – GPA of 3.5+ along with honors, achievements, strong test scores, team captain or class president or similar
- Genuine passion for private equity
Analyst
The candidate will be focused on the identification, analysis and prioritization of potential acquisition candidates. Additional responsibilities will include conducting industry research, preparing internal presentation materials and memoranda, generating valuation and other analyses, and interfacing with portfolio company management and other external constituencies.
The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and be highly resourceful. The candidate should be detail oriented, have a self-starter mentality, and enjoy working in a team environment. The candidate should possess solid analytical skills and an understanding of valuation, finance and accounting. The position requires a mature individual with strong interpersonal skills and substantial self-initiative who is comfortable working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial
environment.
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Demonstrated leadership qualities such as team captain or class president
- Prior internships in management consulting, private equity or investment banking preferred, but not required

| New York over thanksgiving break was great. Got to hang out with all myboyz. Friday we helped james move into his new apt and by the time wefinished at 4, we were so hungry we just ate dinner early (none of ushad eaten lunch yet) and started drinkin. I think we killed 4 or 5bottles of soju and had a couple beers too. Then we picked up a case ofbeers and finished that, so we were all feelin pretty good by 630ish. Seong feltthe best out of us all though, as seen in the video below.. It'sfunnier because james looks so annoyed since he just wanted to finishmoving in, haha.. the look on his face as he turns around and says WTF ARE YOU DOING is just priceless.. but its ok because seong's gotta "make the motion". hehe. I have a few more videos that i took but this video below is tame compared to those... tooscandalous to be posted on xanga..

Started out moving james out, then the restaurant where we got jja jang myun, then back to james' apt to help him unpack and build shit and then to my fave bar, 3rd fl. i look like a retard in most of themcause i was drunk.. s'all good though. Us guys aren't afraid to showthe love. haha..

| Even though i've been telling everyone how much I am lovin cali so far, there are still a lot of things I miss in new york.... such as: New York Pizza 
Lunch at Variety cafe (midtown workers will know this place) 
York Grill, my fave restaurant 
Things being open all night (sux u can't club here past 2am) 
Can't forget third floor (ghetto pic which isn't really a pic, but i had to reserve a spot) 
Taxis to take me home when i'm messed up 
Subway system.. dirty as hell but so convenient
